Physio Pilates was founded by Jocelyn Barner, DPT, who received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine, in San Diego. She has 12+ years of experience working with patients in multiple settings including Short and Long-Term Rehabilitation, Home Health, and Outpatient. Jocelyn has completed a Post-Doctorate Mentorship program with a focus on Manual Therapy. Her treatment and Plan of Care are manually based and serve to improve body mechanics, mobility, strength, and overall health.
Before becoming a Physical Therapist, Jocelyn worked with adults with disabilities in the Nonprofit sector and has also been an educator to children. Given her deep interest in physical health, strength, and mobility, she has been a Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor, and Pilates Instructor. She transitioned to Physical therapy to incorporate her love of movement and life-long learning and to promote transformative change and improvement in her patients. Some of her specialty practice areas are Pilates-based physical therapy, Manual Therapy, and Dry Needling.
In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys running, yoga, Pilates, ballet, and aerial arts. She is also an avid traveler and loves spending time with friends and family. Jocelyn is passionate about helping patients gain strength and confidence in their bodies through movement and loves utilizing physical therapy to teach people how to care for themselves and find longevity in the activities they love.
